HOW TO SIZE
YOUR PICTURES FOR
DIGITAL MEDIA COMPETITIONS
USING ADOBE PHOTOSHOP ELEMENTS
1.
Open photo you wish to resize.
2. Select
Image in pull-down menu on top line.
3. Select
Resize, Image Size.
4. In
Image Size box:
a.
First, change Resolution to 72 pixels/inch.
Make sure “Constrain Proportions”
and
“Resample Image” are both checked. Select
OK.
b.
Next, change either the Width (for horizontal picture) or the Height (for
vertical picture)

dimension to 1024. (The other
dimension will change automatically.)
5. Select
File in pull-down menu on top line.
6. Select
Save As . . . and rename your picture (example PHOTO2).
Select JPEG under “Format”
if photo is not already a JPEG.
Select Save.

In JPEG Options box, make sure “Quality” is 12 Maximum.
Check OK.
