Instruction in the use of the video equipment is by appointment.

(Note:  Use of the above Lab equipment is by reservation in each lab.  See the Lab monitors for scheduling assistance.)

A monitor must be in attendance when someone is working in the room.  If you wish to work when the room is not open, you must bring a monitor.
The Film Transfer Operation has been reinstalled in the Video Lab and is ready for business.  For those who do not remember, the Video Lab is located in the Photo Lab at the Beardsley Rec Center.  Be sure you have signed up for the use of the equipment or it may not be yours to use when you get there.  Sign-up sheets are in the Lab.  The Monitor can unlock the Lab door for you.  Also don’t forget you must be qualified (takes about an hour) to use the Club camcorder, 623- 341-4977 will get you an appointment.

NEW!!!!
The Video Lab announces, with great pride, the start of a ‘Hands-on’ workshop using PowerDirector9 software.  This is a program for SLIDE & Movie editing and production building.  Sign-up sheets will be available after the September 16th membership meeting.  This training will be on Thursday AM, beginning October 6th,  in the Digital Lab and run about 3 hours.  The workshop is modular in form and will be held on successive Thursdays for six weeks.  Attendance at all modules is not mandatory,  but is strongly suggested since future modules are often based on items from past modules.  This workshop will concentrate on the many tools and features of the software.  It is directed to new users and those who have done some work using the software.  Who knows, you may find the wall you have been beating you head against is not as hard as you thought it was.  In the afternoon the Lab will host OPEN LAB. This is a chance for you to sample a few of the workshop methods and learn about a few ‘quickie ways’ to create  slide shows in minutes rather than hours.  This method may not be for everyone, but come see it yourself.

Questions or comments to George Hammes - 341-4977 - e-mail: grhammes@juno.com

In about the middle of January, George Hammes will be offering two days a week devoted to individual help sessions.  Tuesdays will be devoted to Film Transfer operations and Thursdays to PowerDirector9 operations.

Film Transfer help periods, Tuesdays, will be 3 hours, 9-Noon and Noon-3.  Reservations MUST be made using advance sign-on sheets.  No Walk-Ins!  Members using this service must bring their own SDHC card, 8-16GB, and the necessary film to these sessions.

PowerDirector9 help periods will be 1 hour from 9-3 on any Thursday when there is no workshop that morning.  The help periods will then be 1 hour from 12-3.  No Walk-Ins!

Sign-up sheets will be in the Photo Lab on the wall near the Video Lab door in late December.
